South Korea to Launch Satellite


SEOUL - South Korea will launch a satellite by the end of this month and will be in an elite group of space power in the world including Asian powers such as China, India and Japan.

Ministry of Education, Science and Technology today announced the date is between January 30 and February 8 to launch the Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1) weighing 140 tons from the Naro Space Center on the south coast.

"At the end of this week, the first and second stages will be connected and next week, the training will take place," said the ministry.South Korea never fails when launching satellites in 2009 and 2010.The successful launch of this time is crucial for the commercial aspects of space vision Korea. - AFP
